It is with great regret that we write to inform you of the difficult decision our league has made regarding the Spring 2020 season.
Effective today, the Spring 2020 season is officially canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. With our end of season date of May 2nd and the California Governor’s “stay at home” order extending through the 3rd week of April, we were left with no other reasonable alternative.
Although we did our best to remain optimistic about resuming the season, we proactively prepared for the situation we find ourselves in today. As a contingency, we have already spent a great deal of time evaluating the league's costs incurred to date and have arrived at a fair and reasonable calculation for the refund amounts that will be forthcoming. The refunds will be calculated as follows:
*The league’s cost incurred to date (uniforms, fields & lights, umpire fees, etc.) is $155.00 per player. The amount refunded will be the registration fee after subtracting the $155.00 per player cost.
*The $40.00 snack bar fee will be refunded to those who were not able to earn their refund within the first few weeks.
*The $80.00 Fundraiser Buy-Out will ONLY apply to those who chose the “buy out” option at registration. Please note, golf balls purchased will be refunded separately directly to the purchaser and information will be sent out at a later date.
The refunds will be issued electronically online to registrants paid with a credit or debit card. Other forms of registration payments will have to be refunded by check, which will be mailed. Please be patient with the refund process, as this is a very time-intensive process and we are all still volunteers. However, we were proactively prepared for this reality and anticipate completing all refunds within approximately 2 weeks.
While this is a tough pill to swallow, we believe this decision is what serves the interests of our families best.
Lastly, there are discussions with USA Softball regarding a potential plan for a summer league that would run-up to the fall season. We will send regular updates regarding this option as we receive more information.

FVGFS seeks to instill in the girls of the community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence so they will grow to be good clean healthy adults. This objective will be reached by supervised, competitive athletic games. The supervisors shall bear in mind at all times that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills or winning of games is secondary and that the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.
